🔼 This Hall Leads to Fame. In more UVA-made news, Devon Hall is set to join Fenerbahce from Milan. The 28-year-old shooting guard just won his third Italian championship!
🔼 Despite Hits, an Ultimate Miss. Virginia (46-17) suffered its second loss of the NCAA Tournament and was eliminated from the 2024 Men’s College World Series, falling to Florida State (48-16) by a score of 7-3 yesterday afternoon.
The Cavaliers out-hit the Seminoles 10-7 in the contest, and seven of the nine UVA starters recorded a hit. Virginia dropped back-to-back games for only the second time this season and the first time since falling in the first two games at Miami on March 8 & 9.
🔼 Trial By Success. Virginia has 12 current or former student-athletes who will compete at the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials, which will start Friday, June 21, and run through Sunday, June 30, at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon.

🔼 Vin For the Win. Following the conclusion of the outdoor track and field season, Virginia Head Coach Vin Lananna received USTFCCCA Southeast Region Men’s Coach of the Year. While he has garnered West Region Men’s Coach of the Year honors in his career, this marks his first Southeast Region Track honors while at Virginia.
🔼 Hoops Roster Takes Unfortunate Hit. University of Virginia Dean and head basketball Coach Tony Bennett announced Friday that sophomore Elijah Gertrude will miss the 2024-25 season due to a knee injury sustained in a scooter accident.
“He had a solid first season on Grounds and was off to a terrific start in our offseason workouts,” Bennett said. “Elijah’s surgery went well and he is already working hard on his rehabilitation.”
