🔼 Stay Golden. We’re just a few weeks away from Ronde Barber finally being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and to help tide you over until then we’ve got the Virginia football legend getting introduced to his gold jacket for the first time—with a little help from 12/10 confirmed good boy Jagger.

🔼 Quarter Passed. We’re gonna need a bigger trophy cabinet. The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field programs landed a total of 25 honorees on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic teams for the 2022-2023 indoor and outdoor track and field seasons. As a team, both the men’s and women’s squads were recognized with All-Academic distinctions as well.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic team, student athletes must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale including the most recent grading period. They also must have completed at least two semesters or three quarters at the nominating institution.

We like our Brew hot n’ fresh. But we’re not opposed to you reheating your cup. Here’s some news you may have missed recently…

Isaac McKneely made the varsity basketball team as a freshman at Poca High School, and even at that young age his talent was evident. He averaged 17.1 points per game for the Poca Dots that season.

“I kind of had to be the man from day one,” McKneely recalled after a recent practice at John Paul Jones Arena.

But role was different last season, his first at the University of Virginia—he was a freshman on a team dominated by upperclassmen, seven of whom had been in college for at least four years.

“It’s not my responsibility to come in and try to take 20 shots a game or something like that. I just did what I was supposed to do, played my role, and I thought I did it pretty well.”

A 6-foot-4 guard from the small town of Poca, West Virginia, he played in all 33 games for the Cavaliers, who earned a share of the ACC regular-season title and received a No. 4 seed in the NCAA tournament. He shot a team-high 39.2 percent (51 for 130) from 3-point range and averaged 6.7 points and 21.5 minutes per game.

“I thought I had a good year. I feel like this year I’m gonna have to step into a bigger role, though.”
