šŸ”¼ Battling The Mondays. Virginia menā€™s tennis freshman Dylan Dietrich will be competing in the 2024 NCAA Menā€™s Tennis Singles Championship at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Dietrich opens play by taking on the top seed of the championship, Johannus Monday of Tennessee, at 10 a.m. ET. this morning. The winner will advance to face either Thomas Paulsell of Georgia or Samuel Sippel of Boise State.

šŸŽ¾ ā‡¢ Your PREVIEW 

šŸ”¼ Heads Held High. The season came to an end for Virginia (34-20) on Sunday afternoon (May 19) as the Cavaliers fell in the NCAA Regional final by a score of 6-0 to No. 3 Tennessee (43-10). Tennessee was the top seed in the region and seeded third overall in the NCAA Tournament.

It was Virginiaā€™s first appearance in an NCAA Regional final in the programā€™s second-ever NCAA Tournament. The Cavaliers finish the season with 34 winsā€”the most by a Virginia team since the 2004 team posted 38 winsā€”matching the win total of the 2010 NCAA Regional team.

šŸ”¼ Holding Court. The Virginia womenā€™s tennis team will have four players competing in the 2024 NCAA Womenā€™s Tennis Individual Championships, being held today through Saturday (May 20-25) in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Senior Hibah Shaikh and sophomore Annabelle Xu will compete in the singles draw, while juniors MĆ©lodie Collard and Elaine Chervinsky will compete in doubles.

Coming out of a timeout in double overtime, Connor Shellenberger (3g, 1a) dodged down the right alley, rolled back towards the cage and fired a left-handed shot that got past Johns Hopkinsā€™ goalie Chayse Ierlan (15 saves) to seal an 11-10 comeback win for No. 6 seed Virginia in the NCAA Quarterfinals on Sunday.

For the second consecutive season, the Cavaliers advance to Championship Weekend, where they will take on No. 7 seed Maryland (10-5), which upended No. 2 seed Duke (13-6) on Saturday, in the semifinals on Saturday (May 25). Opening faceoff from Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia, Pa.) is set for 2:30 p.m. on ESPN2.
