Good morning! Virginia will be represented well when it comes to international soccer—Emily Sonnett is one of the few players on this year’s team that won the FIFA Women’s World Cup four years ago.

🔼 One At A Time. Single-game tickets for Virginia football home games go on sale this morning at 9:00am! Get your tickets to games against JMU, NC State, William & Mary, Georgia Tech, and Duke. If you want to bundle, there are 3 game mini plans on sale now. Check out the home schedule and events here.

🔼 Outside The Box. This season’s non-conference schedule for Virginia men’s basketball is here! The highlight of the schedule is the ACC/SEC Challenge against Texas A&M at John Paul Jones Arena. The Hoos will take on Florida in the Hall of Fame series in Charlotte, North Carolina in early November. Afterwards, Virginia will compete in the Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off with Wisconsin, West Virginia, and SMU.

🔼 Row Your Boat. Nine UVA rowers will hit the water at the 2023 Rowing Under 23 and Under 19 World Championships. Kate Kelly, Elsa Hartman, Eva Frohnhofer, and Lauren Benedict will all represent the USA while Leia Till represents Canada at the U23 Championships July 19-23. In the U19 Championships, UVA will be represented by incoming freshmen Lila Henn, Ava Schetlick, and Kennedy Housley for the USA and Stella Bittman for Canada.

🤔 HOOS TRIVIA

In the name. Legend has it that one particular school referred to the UVA fans as a bunch of “wahoos” at a baseball game in the last 1800’s, and this is where the name came from.

Several UVA student-athletes are in Washington D.C. this week for the UNITY Tour with the ACC. They’re learning about the civil rights movement, the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Title IX, and a guided walk of the March on Washington. The main focus is on racial and gender equality.
