🔼 A New Dean’s List. Virginia volleyball head coach Shannon Wells has announced the addition of Kate Dean (Tuscola, Ill.), a transfer middle blocker from Eastern Illinois.

Dean comes to Virginia after playing two seasons for the Panthers. She started 29 matches last season as a sophomore, helping EIU to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2001, with a 28-5 record and a 15-3 mark in Ohio Valley Conference play.

🔼 Making a Splash. Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving head coach Todd DeSorbo announced the promotion of Jake Shrum to associate head coach. Shrum has been a member of DeSorbo’s UVA staff since 2022, serving as an assistant coach.

Shrum has helped coach the UVA women’s program to a pair of NCAA titles—Virginia's third and fourth consecutive—and a pair of ACC women’s championships.

🔼 Thanks a Millon. The end of the Connor Shellenberger Era will be a sad day for the University of Virginia men’s program.

Shellenberger, who grew up in Charlottesville, arrived on Grounds as a heralded recruit, and he’ll leave as one of the greatest players in the history of a storied program.

“He continues to earn that moniker Mr. May, doesn’t he?” Virginia head coach Lars Tiffany said.

McCabe Millon might pick up a similar nickname before he’s done at UVA. In his second NCAA tournament game, the freshman from the Baltimore area totaled a team-high six points Sunday, on three goals and three assists.

🔼 A Stroke of Bad Luck. The Virginia women’s golf team finished 28th at the NCAA Championships following a third-round score of 18-over 306. The Cavaliers failed to make the 15-team cut for the final round of stroke play that decides the eight teams that advance to match play for the NCAA title. UVA was off to its best start of the week, standing at 3-over after the team had cleared the first 12 holes when the tough course conditions caught up to the Cavaliers.
