🔼 Top Tier. Football player Chandler Morris has been named to the 2025 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award Preseason Watch List. The award recognizes the nation’s best college quarterback and is the oldest and most prestigious national quarterback award. Morris started in all 13 games for North Texas last season and threw 3,774 yards and 31 touchdowns.

🔼 Game Set. The men’s basketball team will play Ohio State in the Nashville Hoops Showdown on Saturday, Feb. 14. The tournament will be at Bridgestone Arena. Tickets for the event go on sale on Wednesday, Dec. 10.

🔼 Historic Hoo. We only have 22 more days until Virginia football is back on the field for its 2025 season opener at Scott Stadium against Coastal Carolina!

We like our Brew hot ‘n’ fresh, but we’re not opposed to you reheating your cup. Here’s some news you may have missed recently…

As the sport continues to evolve, more and more basketball programs are employing analytics as a resource. At UVA, head coach Ryan Odom’s staff includes Matt Hart, the program’s director of analytics. Hart held that position at VCU until this spring, when he followed Odom from Richmond to Charlottesville.

“What you measure, you can improve,” Odom said. “I think that’s the biggest lesson. If you measure it, you can get better at it. And so I think that’s the primary focus for us. We want to try to use these numbers to help our guys individually improve and use the numbers to help our team overall improve.”
