🔼 Championship Results. The track and field team finished up the ACC Outdoor Championships this past weekend and excelled. Nate Mountain won back-to-back ACC titles in the men’s 3000m steeplechase with a time of 8:30.05. That time also broke the meet record of 8:31.23 set in 2021. Yasin Sado earned silver in the 3000m steeplechase. On the final day of racing, the men won the ACC Outdoor Championship title. The men finished with 107, and the women finished in third with 74 points.
🔼 Round 16 Win. The women’s tennis team won its NCAA Super Regional Round of 16 match against Vanderbilt 4-1. The Cavaliers won the doubles point and three singles points to take the victory. Next up, the team will face Texas A&M in the quarterfinal match on Friday at 5 p.m. ET.

🔼 First Round Dub. The men’s lacrosse team beat Saint Joseph’s 17-11 in round one of the NCAA Tournament. Payton Cormier scored a career-high eight goals, which shattered the NCAA Division I all-time goals record and set the single-game record by a UVA player in the NCAA Tournament contest. He now has 222 goals in his career, breaking former Penn State Mac O’Keefe’s record of 221. Cormier also shattered UVA’s single-season goals record with 63.
🔼 Final Games. The women’s lacrosse team demolished LIU 21-6 in round one of the NCAA Championships. The 21 goals marked a program high in an NCAA tournament game. Morgan Schwab led the team with seven points, and Katie Miller had five goals. Four Cavaliers recorded hat tricks— Katia Carnevale, Mackenzie Hoeg, Kiki Shaw and Miller.
The team then faced No. 10 Florida in round two. The Cavaliers had a tight game but lost 13-8. Schwab added two assists to make her all-time record 159. She now stands third all-time in assists in the ACC. Virginia had 19 ground balls, its second-highest total in a game this season. The women end their season 15-5 overall and 6-3 in conference play.

🔼 Moving On. The men’s tennis team is headed to the quarterfinals after a huge 4-1 win over South Carolina. The Cavaliers dropped the doubles point, but came back to win four matches to take the victory. Next up, the men will face Wake Forest on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
