🔼 Still Undefeated. Maggie Cagle scored her fifth goal of the season on Thursday, which turned out to be all No. 4 Virginia women’s soccer needed in a 1-0 win over VCU.

The Hoos are now 6-0 on the season and have allowed just one goal as they head into Sunday’s home contest against Howard.

🔼 Double Dip. After picking up a win over No. 16 Penn State on opening weekend, No. 3 Virginia field hockey plays twice this weekend — at home today against Temple at 5 p.m. and on the road at No. 11 Liberty on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Both the Owls and Flames are 2-0 so far this season.

🔼 Keep It Up. Fresh off a three-match sweep in which it didn’t lose a single set, Virginia volleyball will host the Cavalier Classic this weekend with matchups against Coastal Carolina and Hofstra.

The Hoos play the Chanticleers today at 6:30 p.m. and again on Saturday, with a matchup against the Pride sandwiched in between tomorrow at noon.

🏐 PREVIEW: UVA Looks To Extend Win Streak; Opens Home Campaign With Cavalier Classic

🔼 Conference Play. Virginia men’s soccer begins ACC play today with a matchup against Duke at 6 p.m. at Klöckner Stadium.

The Blue Devils are 2-1-1 on the season, with wins over UC San Diego and Averett, and a loss to Grand Canyon.

🔼 Gaining Steam. Leading after Round One after shooting a 5-under 67, Virginia’s Amanda Sambach increased her lead even further on Thursday at the Pan-Pacific UGSL Tournament in Mishima, Shizuoka, Japan, shooting 6-under 66.

The Hoos remain in the lead as a team, with a 36-hole score of 3-over 291.
