🔼 Hosting No. 1. The Virginia women’s soccer team (5-0-3) puts its unbeaten record up against No. 1 North Carolina at home tonight.

The Hoos are unbeaten on the season, but are itching to get back in the win column — they have played to a draw the last two times out. The Tar Heels have a 6-0-3 record, with three ranked wins already on the season.

🔼 New In Town. Andrew Rohde averaged 28.5 points per game during his senior year of high school before spending his first collegiate year at St. Thomas (Minn.). Now he’s a Hoo.

🔼 Making An Impact. A barrage of messages from high-level coaches on the first day of the June 2021 recruiting contact period opened Lauryn Bowie’s eyes to the future she might have in volleyball.

She quickly set up a meeting with Virginia head coach Shannon Wells, and the rest is history.

🔼 Go West, Young Men. The Hoos are sending Iñaki Montes and Jeffrey von der Schulenburg to compete in doubles at the prestigious Battle in the Bay Classic from Sept. 21-24.

The tournament annually features the top collegiate men’s and women’s tennis players in the country.

🔼 Split Squad. Virginia women’s tennis will be competing at a pair of tournaments through the end of this week.

The team will be split between the Fall Ranked Spotlight Tournament in Cary, N.C. from Thursday through Sunday, and the Milwaukee Tennis Classic from Friday through Sunday.
