🔼 Winner, Winner. Two goals from Meredith McDermott were all No. 12 Virginia women’s soccer needed in a 2-1 win over West Virginia on Thursday night.

For McDermott, it was her second brace of the season. For the Hoos, it was their fourth win of the season already.

🔼 It Just Takes One. Stephen Annor’s first goal as a Hoo was a big one, as it lifted Virginia men’s soccer to a 1-0 win over George Mason on Thursday night.

Virginia is now 2-1 on the season, with a home matchup against Maryland next up on Monday evening.

🔼 City That Never Sleeps. Virginia volleyball is at the Big Apple Tournament this weekend, with dates against Quinnipiac and Columbia on the schedule.

Both weekend matchups are available on ESPN+, with the Quinnipiac (1-2) match at 4 p.m. today and Columbia (0-0) at Noon tomorrow.

🔼 City Of Brotherly Love. No. 6 Virginia field hockey is headed to Philadelphia this weekend for a pair of matches against undefeated teams.

The Hoos take on No. 11 Saint Joseph’s (2-0) today at 4 p.m., and Temple (2-0) on Sunday at Noon.

Virginia (1-1) already has two ranked matchups under its belt, with a win over No. 5 Penn State and loss to No. 14 Liberty.

The Hoos are at the Spider Alumni Open in Richmond tomorrow at 9:15 a.m. to begin their season, with the Virginia Invitational on deck.
