🔼 Party Like It’s 1995! The tension grew and the anticipation built Friday night until finally, at the end of the second overtime, the home fans at Scott Stadium were able to let loose with a celebration for the ages — Virginia football beat No. 8 Florida State, 46-38, for its first win over a top-10 opponent at Scott Stadium since 2005!

🔼 One Of The Best! Coming off its highest-ranked win at Scott Stadium in the last 20 years, Virginia football moved into the Associated Press (AP) poll at No. 24, the organization announced Sunday afternoon!

🔼 Two More. No. 3 Virginia field hockey added another pair to the win column over the weekend, beating both Cal and Stanford on the West Coast to improve to 8-0 on the season.

🔼 Defensive Battle. No. 12 Virginia men’s soccer battled with North Carolina in rainy conditions on Saturday night, playing the Tar Heels to a scoreless draw at Klöckner Stadium.

The shutout was the Hoos’ fifth in their last eight matches.

🔼 Fast Finishes. Virginia cross country ran well at the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Mo., over the weekend, with the No. 6 men’s team finishing as runner-up and the No. 18 women finishing fourth.

Gary Martin led the way for the men, finishing ninth individually, while Tatum David led the way for the women in 15th place.

🔼 Back And Forth. Virginia volleyball has opened ACC play, taking on No. 3 Stanford and Cal inside John Paul Jones Arena on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The Hoos fell in four sets to both the Cardinal and the Bears.
