🔼 Mountaineer Matchup. No. 25 Virginia football suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday against West Virginia at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C., falling 38-27 to the Mountaineers.
Against West Virginia, whose fans made up most of the crowd of 39,377, UVA twice led in the Duke’s Mayo Classic: first at 7-0 and then at 14-7. But the Mountaineers’ trio of playmakers—quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr., tailback Cam Cook and wide receiver DJ Epps—proved too much for the Wahoos to stop.

🔼 Comeback Falls Short. Virginia men’s soccer fell to Wake Forest on Saturday in Winston-Salem, N.C., 3-2, despite a second-half comeback from the Hoos.
After trailing 2-0 at halftime, Virginia scored a pair of goals just two minutes apart to tie the match, but a late goal from the Demon Deacons was the difference.
