Virginia dominates in season opener.

🔼 1-0. Virginia’s new season got off to a hot start, posting a 48-7 win against Coastal Carolina on Saturday evening. The Cavalier offense lit up the stadium, totaling an incredible 454 yards, with 123 of those coming on the ground from four different ball carriers.
Among the highlights? Chandler Morris threw two touchdown passes, Trell Harris dropped jaws with a 48-yard reception, James Jackson and Kevon Gray recovered fumbles, Ethan Minter tallied an INT, Caleb Hardy blocked a punt, Will Bettridge knocked through two field goals, Daniel Sparks averaged 64.7 yards on eight punts, and Cam Ross housed a kickoff return 100 yards.

🔼 Undefeated Weekend. Virginia volleyball closed off an undefeated weekend in DC on Sunday afternoon. The Hoos dropped just one set all weekend, cruising to a 3-0 win over Georgetown, a 3-1 win over George Washington, and a 3-0 win over Howard. Next up, the Cavaliers will host VCU on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 6:00 p.m.

🔼 End In A Draw. A top-20 match-up in women’s soccer ended in a 1-1 draw between No. 13 Virginia and No. 16 Georgetown in Charlottesville on Sunday afternoon. Lia Godfrey netted Virginia’s goal of the game in the first half off a free kick as the Hoos moved to 4-0-1 on the season. The Cavaliers will welcome Penn State on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 6:00 p.m.
