🔼 Candy Crushes. Five Virginia football players have made the 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List.

🔼 Kicking Things Off. Virginia men’s soccer’s season gets underway tonight at 6 o’clock against Iona at Klöckner Stadium.

The Hoos are coming off a 2022 season in which they went 10-4-5. The Gaels were 7-5-5 a season ago.

🔼 Make It Three. With a pair of 5-0 wins under its belt, Virginia women’s soccer hosts Michigan tonight at approximately 8:15, following the men’s match.

The Wolverines are 0-1-1 on the early season, dropping a contest to USC and drawing against Pepperdine in a California swing.

🔼 Leadership Duties. Virginia women’s soccer’s Talia Staude is probably not the captain who is going to give the fiery pep talk.

She is the most talkative Hoo on the field though, being one of the team’s defenders.

“I think naturally I’m a lead-by-example type of person,” Staude said. “But given the position that I play on the field, I kind of don’t have a choice except to do both: lead by example, but also lead by my voice.”

🔼 Supplementing The Staff. Virginia rowing head coach Kevin Sauer has announced the hiring of Lindsay Dare Shoop and Morgan Baynham-Williams as assistant coaches.

Dare Shoop starred at UVA from 2002-04, was a two-time All-American, and three-time world champion. Baynham-Williams has earned World Cup medals coaching for Leander Club and Great Britain.
