🔼 Lion Tamers. No. 21 Virginia women’s soccer traveled to State College, Pa. to take on No. 3 Penn State on Thursday, and are coming home with a 2-1 victory!
Maggie Cagle provided the offense for the Hoos, scoring twice in the second half, the second on a penalty kick to break a 1-1 tie in the 66th minute.
Virginia is back on the pitch this Sunday, hosting Utah Valley at noon at Klöckner Stadium.
🔼 Good Start. No. 13 Virginia men’s soccer began its season with fireworks on Thursday, beating Rider 3-0 at Klöckner Stadium.
The Hoos got goals from three different players — Daniel Mangarov scored in the 10th minute, following by Kome Ubogu in the 45th and Nick Dang in the 84th minute.
Virginia is right back at home this Sunday, hosting Colgate at 7 p.m.
🔼 Championship Catalyst. Former Hoo Paige Madden, who led UVA to its first NCAA women’s swimming and diving title, joined the Wahoo Central Podcast to discuss her experience at the recent Olympic Games in Paris, where she won two medals for Team USA.
