🔼 Expanding Horizons. Virginia women’s basketball player Mir McLean has been exposed to languages like Latin, Spanish and French. None of those seemed challenging enough when it came time to fulfill her language requirement at Roland Park County School in Baltimore, though.

She chose Arabic, which led to a decision to major in Middle Eastern Language & Literature at the University of Virginia. Her major recently led her to a four-week summer program in Morocco.

Ham was one of the first African American players to ever suit up for the UVA football team when he donned his No. 31 uniform for the Hoos back in 1970.
