📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Good Start. Virginia women’s soccer is 1-0 thanks to a 2-0 win over Towson in its season opener on Thursday!
Laughlin Ryan had the honor of scoring the first goal of the season for the Hoos, and also the first score of her career, while Maggie Cagle added the cushion in the second half.

🔼 Back Better. Lia Godfrey made her 2024 debut with Virginia women’s soccer yesterday after missing the entire 2023 season due to a serious knee injury.
Her return gives the Hoos’ lineup a difference-maker in more ways than one.

🔼 Coming This Fall. The ACC and ESPN have announced network selections for four fall Olympic sports, and fans will have nine opportunities to watch the Hoos on the ACC Network and ESPNU!

🔼 Back At JPJ. After hosting volleyball for the first time last year, John Paul Jones Arena will again host Shannon Wells and the Hoos this season for a Sunday, Oct. 6 matchup against Miami!

🔼 All In The Family. Virginia field hockey’s Taryn Tkachuk has a couple famous brothers. Matthew just made his second Stanley Cup Final appearance, and Brady scored 37 goals for Ottawa this past season. Her father, Keith, is a member of the St. Louis Blues Hall of Fame.
She’s making a name for herself in Charlottesville, though, and is set for a big season with the Hoos.
🏑 FROM St. Louis Post-Dispatch ($): You know Matthew and Brady. But what about Taryn Tkachuk, the goal-scoring sister?
