🔼 What A Weekend It Was. Virginia football may not have played a regular season game this past weekend, but it was impactful nonetheless!

First, the Hoos got the pads popping during a scrimmage inside Scott Stadium.

🎥 “We’ve got a responsibility to play to a standard when we touch this grass.”

Then, the team hosted an alumni cookout for past and present Hoos.

🍗 “You are creating the standard for all the future generations to come.”

And lastly, the Hoos hosted its 2023 Meet The Team Day on Sunday.

🔼 Wahoo Wideout. Virginia wide receiver Malik Washington is the latest guest on the Wahoo Central Podcast!

Washington chatted about his journey to UVA after starting his college career at Northwestern, broke down fall camp and talked about his goals for the 2023 season.

🔼 One More Go-Around. Virginia forward Leo Afonso has an entire professional soccer career ahead of him once he finishes up his fourth year on Grounds.

Where that will be is up in the air. Afonso is a veteran of Inter Miami’s academy, so the MLS club could sign him to a homegrown contract after the season. But right now, he’s focused on his final season as a Hoo.
