🔼 Pass The Salt. Virginia football did some bonding over the weekend with a Fall Camp Cookout!

🔼 Living Legend. Virginia Director of Track and Field and Cross Country/Associate Athletics Director for Administration, Vin Lananna, was honored with the USATF Legend Coach Award for 2025 presented by USA Track and Field (USATF) on Saturday!
Considered one of the most successful active collegiate coaches, Lananna’s resume includes 11 NCAA team championship titles among numerous NCAA individual champions, conference champions and Olympic medalists. During three-plus decades as a head coach, he has led his teams to 44 conference championships.

🔼 Dominant Showing. Virginia swimmers and alumni finished up competition at the FINA World Aquatics Championships on Sunday, collecting a total of 13 medals (seven gold, five silver, one bronze) and two world records in Singapore!

🔼 Big Stage. Several Virginia track and field athletes are in Eugene, Ore., this week, competing at the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field.
Gary Martin highlighted the weekend out west, running a blistering 3:32.03 for a new personal best and NCAA No. 8 all-dates time, breaking his own school record in the process.

🔼 Tune In. A rising sophomore at UVA, Leah Hayes won five gold medals for the U.S. swim team at the recent World University Games in Berlin. Hayes, who's from Illinois, helped the Virginia women's team win its fifth consecutive NCAA title in 2024-25.

🔼 Field Trip. Virginia men’s hoops spent Saturday taking in the scenes in Washington, D.C.!

🔼 Runnin’ Around. We only have 26 more days until Virginia football is back on the field for its 2025 season opener at Scott Stadium against Coastal Carolina!
Kevin Brooks, who wore No. 26 for the Hoos from 1992-95, ran for more than 2,000 yards at Virginia and scored 17 touchdowns!

Dee Dee Hernandez Joins Virginia Softball Coaching Staff. A four-year letterwinner at San Diego State, Hernandez posted a 34-18 record with a 3.07 ERA and set the program record with 16 saves in her career. She struck out 200 and walked only 60 in her time in the circle. She finished her career at San Diego State in the top 10 in program history in winning percentage (7th – .654 winning percentage), fewest walks allowed per 7.0 IP (10th – 1.31 per 7.0 innings pitched) and total appearances (10th – 128 appearances).
