Good Morning, Hoos! The gameday experience at Scott Stadium is getting an upgrade! Ahead of tomorrow’s season opener, Virginia announced several fan experience enhancements, including theme dates, giveaways, affordability initiatives, and new LED ribbon boards.

🔼 One More Day. We only have 1 more day until Virginia football is back on the field for its 2025 season opener at Scott Stadium against Coastal Carolina!
James Jackson, who will wear No. 1 for the Hoos this fall, has 188 total tackles in his Virginia career, including 11 for loss. After missing five of the Hoos’ final six games of the 2024 season, Jackson is back for one more round in 2025.

🔼 Inside Virginia Athletics. It’s time for an all-new episode of Inside Virginia Athletics with Carla Williams. In this edition, Williams sits down with Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing Eric Ward to talk about the gameday experience in Charlottesville.
🔼 Staying Undefeated. Virginia women’s soccer posted another win last night, this time knocking off Charlotte, 3-0. Virginia tallied goals from Sophia Bradley, Maggie Cagle, and Kiki Maki to get the victory. Check out Kiki’s header that found the back of the net here.
The undefeated squad takes the pitch next against Georgetown on Sunday at 1 p.m.
🔼 Battle Back. Virginia men’s soccer fell to George Mason yesterday, 4-1, getting a goal from Nicholas Simmonds. The team will be back at it on Monday evening, hosting American at home with a 7 p.m. kick-off.
🔼 Season Opener. Your No. 3 Virginia field hockey team is slated to open its 2025 campaign this evening in a Top-25 battle against No. 18 Penn State. The game will get underway at 5 p.m. at Turf Field in Charlottesville; you can catch the game live on ACCNX. Full preview here.
🔼 Making An Impact. And speaking of Virginia field hockey, today the spotlight is on Mia Abello, who grew up in Houston. Abello, now in her third year with Virginia, made her international field hockey debut earlier this year for the United States’ senior team, and now she’s looking to replicate the success of her freshman and sophomore campaigns in Charlottesville as the Hoos get ready to open a new season.
🔼 One of the Best. Matt Schaub is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever suit up at Virginia. The former Hoo went on to have a 17-year NFL career before hanging up the cleats. Now, he’s our guest on the latest Wahoo Central Podcast as he joins the announcing team for radio broadcasts of Cavalier football this fall.
🔼 Fall Ball. Virginia men’s baseball announced its fall schedule this week! The Cavaliers will be back on the diamond for exhibition games against Georgetown on September 27 and Navy on October 19 at Disharoon Park. The Cavs will also participate in the annual Fall World Series from October 23-25. Admission to all Virginia home fall baseball games is free to the public. Details here.

Morris lands on Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List. Virginia starting quarterback Chandler Morris earned a spot on the 2025 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List ahead of the season. The award is given each year to the top senior or upperclassman quarterback on track to graduate with their class.
