🔼 Summertime Surge. For about six weeks this summer, the sounds of a basketball team at work regularly filled the women’s practice gym at John Paul Jones Arena.

It’s quieter in there now, but with the start of the fall semester nearing, that will soon change. And when the Cavaliers reconvene at JPJ next week, head coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton said, they’ll be in a good place.

🔼 Golden Arm. Virginia quarterback Chandler Morris has been named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watch list, presented annually to the top senior or upperclassman quarterback who is on track to graduate with their class!

🔼 Preseason Tipoff. Virginia men’s hoops will travel to Nashville on Thursday, Oct. 16 for an exhibition game at Vanderbilt!

🔼 Almost Time. The Virginia field hockey team has been voted to finish third in the ACC Coaches preseason poll, and Mia Abello and Suze Leemans were named to the Preseason All-ACC team, as announced Tuesday!

🔼 For Glory. Virginia women’s soccer freshman defender Pearl Cecil has been tabbed for the U.S. U17 Women’s National Team roster for a pair of friendlies in Spain!

🔼 Directing The Offense. We only have 10 more days until Virginia football is back on the field for its 2025 season opener at Scott Stadium against Coastal Carolina!

Jameel Sewell, who wore No. 10 for the Hoos from 2006-09, threw for 5,366 yards and 24 touchdowns at Virginia, and added 15 rushing touchdowns.
