🔼 Football Is Art! Virginia football is painting a masterpiece at fall camp!
🔼 Almost Time! With the start of a new season fast approaching, the University of Virginia football team is shifting its focus this week to its opening-day opponent.
The Cavaliers kick off their fifth season under head coach Tony Elliott with an Aug. 29 game against ACC foe NC State at Scott Stadium. UVA players started studying the Wolfpack early in the summer but took a break for training camp, which started late last month.

🔼 Within State Lines! Virginia women’s basketball and James Madison will renew an in-state rivalry in 2026-27 as part of a three-year agreement, with the Hoos first hosting the Dukes on Nov. 19, 2026!

🔼 Running With The Hoos! Virginia interim track and field head coach Trevor Dunbar has announced the hiring of Sam Bradley as an assistant coach!
Bradley arrives in Charlottesville after spending the last nine seasons at Radford. For the first eight years of his tenure with the Highlanders, Bradley served as the program’s head cross country coach and assistant coach before being promoted to associate head track and field coach before the start of the 2025 season.
🔼 Hoos Hoo! Congratulations to Virginia women’s basketball alumna Dawn Staley, who has been inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the 1996 Women’s National Team!
🔼 Defensive Impact! We have 11 days until Virginia football is back inside Scott Stadium for its Week 0 matchup on Saturday, August 29 against NC State!
Maddox Marcellus, who wears No. 11 for Virginia, totaled 49 tackles last season for the Hoos, including 2.5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks and an interception!

Coach’s Corner with Tony Elliott Schedule Announced. The fifth season of Coach’s Corner with Tony Elliott returns to the airwaves Tuesday, Aug. 18. Fralin Family Head Football Coach Tony Elliott will be joined throughout the season by Virginia football player guests for another year of insight and analysis. The weekly radio show will air from 7–8 p.m. on the Virginia Sports Radio Network (VSRN) and the Virginia Sports mobile app and is hosted by John Freeman, the “Voice of the Cavaliers.”
