🔼 Shattered Records! Virginia swimmers continued to make waves at the 2026 Pan Pacific Championships over the weekend, highlighted by Kate Douglass’ world record in the 50m Freestyle with a time of 23.19 in the final of the event!

🔼 Punting Praise! Virginia punter Daniel Sparks, who was named to this year’s Preseason All-ACC team earlier this offseason, has been named one of 21 players nationwide to the preseason watch list for the Ray Guy Award!

🔼 Another Win! No. 11 Virginia women’s soccer moved to 2-0 on Sunday, beating Liberty and handing the Flames their first loss of the season, 2-0, at Klöckner Stadium!

Addison Halpern scored the first goal of the match in the 18th minute for the Hoos, followed by Allie Ross in the 73rd minute. With the win, head coach Steve Swanson net his 400th victory as head coach of the Cavaliers.

🔼 Terrific Trio! The Virginia field hockey trio of Mia Abello, Mary Adams and Nilou Lempers were named to the Preseason All-ACC team over the weekend!

🔼 Instant Impact Incoming! Incoming Virginia men’s tennis first-year Jack Kennedy won the singles title at the 2026 USTA Boys' 18s National Championships at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan!

🔼 Signal Caller! We have 12 days until Virginia football is back inside Scott Stadium for its Week 0 matchup on Saturday, August 29 against NC State!

Shawn Moore, who wore No. 12 for Virginia from 1987-90, finished his career holding 41 school, ACC and NCAA individual records, including program records for career total offense (7,897 yards) and touchdown responsibility (83), while finishing fourth in Heisman Trophy voting as a senior in 1990.

Coach’s Corner with Tony Elliott Schedule Announced. The fifth season of Coach’s Corner with Tony Elliott returns to the airwaves Tuesday, Aug. 18. Fralin Family Head Football Coach Tony Elliott will be joined throughout the season by Virginia football player guests for another year of insight and analysis. The weekly radio show will air from 7–8 p.m. on the Virginia Sports Radio Network (VSRN) and the Virginia Sports mobile app and is hosted by John Freeman, the “Voice of the Cavaliers.”
