🔼 Generous Gift. Dr. Colin G. Steele, a Virginia wrestling alumnus who endowed the Colin G. Steele Bicentennial Scholarship with a fully realized gift of $1.15 million, was interred at Arlington National Cemetery on August 7.

🔼 Kick It Off! Women’s soccer head coach Steve Swanson has coached eight All-American midfielders at Virginia. The next in line might just be Addison Halpern, the Gatorade National Player of the Year as a high school senior in 2024-25 who earned a spot on the ACC’s All-Freshman Team in 2025.
Halpern and the No. 11 Hoos kick off their season today at 7 p.m. against Northwestern at Klöckner Stadium!

🔼 Summer Champ! Virginia women’s tennis’ Katie Rolls has won the women’s singles title at the 2026 ITA National Summer Championships in Waco, Texas!
Rolls, the No. 3 seed in the draw, won all five of her matches in straight sets to take the title. She topped Baylor's Alain Zack 6-0, 7-5 on Tuesday (Aug. 11) in the final to clinch the title.

Sara Curtis Wins Bronze in 100m Free at European Championships. Sophomore Sara Curtis won bronze in the 100m Free (52.72) on Tuesday (Aug. 11) in her first individual final of the meet. She is the first Italian woman to ever podium in the 100m Free at the European Championships.
