Hoos Brew 7/31: On The List

Jonas Sanker is one of the best defenders in the country!

Good Morning, Hoos! Hey, look— a couple UVA legends hanging out in Paris!

And a whole group of men’s basketball Hoos recently got together for a reunion — you’ll want to give this a read!

What all do we have brewing today?

🥇 Collins makes the quarters
🏈 Sanker up for Nagurski
⚔️ And much, much more!

🥇 HOOS AT THE PARIS OLYMPICS

🔼 Danielle Collins Advances To Olympics Singles Quarterfinals
Collins played her way into the quarterfinals by way of three-set victory over Camila Osorio of Colombia.

🔼 Joe Bell & Team New Zealand Eliminated In Group Stage At Paris Olympics
New Zealand fell 3-0 to host France to finish 1-2 in Group A.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 On The List. Virginia safety Jonas Sanker has been named to the 2024 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List, given annually to the National Defensive Player of the Year!

🔼 Year 2. Virginia women’s basketball’s Edessa Noyan, who came to Grounds from Sweden, only got to travel back home once last year, during winter break.

She spent much of this summer in Europe, though, leading Sweden’s U20 national team in a pair of tournaments. Her Swedish teammates noticed a change right away in Noyan — she had gotten better and more consistent.
