🔼 Leveling Up. University of Virginia Director of Athletics Carla Williams has named Tyler Jones as general manager for football and women’s basketball!

Jones will lead Virginia Athletics’ Front Office efforts, and be elevated to Chief Strategy Officer, overseeing the department’s revenue generation verticals. Jones will also serve as UVA’s CAP Manager for football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and baseball.

🔼 Leading From The Front. To join him at ACC Football Kickoff in Charlotte, N.C., UVA head coach Tony Elliott chose four graduate students: returning starters Noah Josey and Jahmeer Carter and transfers Mitchell Melton and Chandler Morris. The Cavalier crew aced the assignment Tuesday at the league’s annual preseason media gathering.

🔼 Made A Splash. Virginia swimmers earned five more medals, including three golds, on Wednesday at the World University Games, running their total to 19 golds at the event!

🔼 Top of the Leaderboard. The No. 1 player in the PGA Tour U preseason ranking is a Hoo — congratulations to Ben James!

🔼 Breakin’ Tackles. We only have 37 more days until Virginia football is back on the field for its 2025 season opener at Scott Stadium against Coastal Carolina!

Cedric Peerman, who wore No. 37 for the Hoos from 2005-08, collected more than 2,000 all-purpose yards during his Virginia career and scored 16 touchdowns — check out his highlight tape above!

Virginia Track & Field Lands 28 On USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic team, student athletes must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale including the most recent grading period. They also must have completed at least two semesters or three quarters at the nominating institution.
