🔼 Still Running. Virginia track & field put on quite the performance on Day 1 of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, as three Hoos advanced to the finals of their respective events.
Yasin Sado and Nate Mountain both advanced to the finals of the 3000m steeplechase with times of 8:30.03 and 8:32.92, respectively, and Shane Cohen advanced in the 800m with a time of 1:46.94.
John Fay finished 21st in the hammer throw with a toss of 65.23m, and Gary Martin narrowly missed qualifying for the 1500m finals with a 3:41.43 semifinal time. Will Anthony rounded out the competition with a 18th place finish in the 10,000m with a time of 28:56.48.
🔼 On The Call. Former Virginia football standouts Ahmad Hawkins and Matt Schaub will join play-by-play announcer John Freeman to form the broadcast team for UVA games on the Virginia Sports Radio Network starting this fall!

🔼 History Made. For the first time in program history, Virginia men’s golf has four PING All-Americans!
Ben James was named a first-team member for the second consecutive year, while Bryan Lee, George Duangmanee and Josh Duangmanee were each named honorable mention.

🔼 Short List. For the second consecutive season, Virginia shortstop Griff O’Ferrall is one of five finalists for the Brooks Wallace Award, handed out to the nation’s top shortstop!

🔼 All The All-Americans. Virginia men’s tennis is one of the best programs in the country, on and off the court!
Chris Rodesch, Jeffrey von der Schulenburg and James Hopper were each named to the 2024 Academic All-America Men’s Tennis Teams on Wednesday.

🔼 Couldn’t Wait. Virginia women’s basketball head coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton announced Wednesday the addition of Kamryn Kitchen to the program for the 2024-25 season!
Kitchen, originally a member of the 2025 high school class, will graduate early and enroll at UVA this summer. She was previously ranked the No. 57 prospect in the 2025 class according to ESPN, and was one of 14 elite shooters invited to Steph Curry’s shooting camp in the summer of 2023.

⚔️ UVA Athletics Continues To Post Impressive Numbers In NCAA’s Academic Progress Rate Report. Four Cavalier programs posted perfect multi-year rates of 1,000 while a total of 16 (of 23) teams had a perfect APR for the 2022-23 academic year.
