🔼 Five To Paris. Another day, another U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials win for Kate Douglass!

Douglass won the 200 IM to claim her third gold of the event over the weekend, and on top of her winning the race, UVA senior Alex Walsh finished second to earn a spot on the US roster for the Paris Games!

Gretchen Walsh closed out the Trials by qualifying for the Paris Games in the 50 Free.

In total, the Hoos will have five current or former swimmers on the U.S. team — Douglass, Alex and Gretchen Walsh, Emma Weber and Paige Madden.

🔼 Fast Times At Hayward Field. The U.S. Track & Field Olympic Team Trials are off and running, with several Hoos competing over the weekend!

Yasin Sado used a big kick at the end of his 3000m steeplechase final on Sunday night to finish fifth in the event, highlighting the action thus far.

Today’s action will include UVA alum Henry Wynne running in the 1500m final, looking to improve on his season-best 3:34.40 qualifying time.

🔼 Commitment To Excellence. The Virginia Athletics Foundation and Virginia Athletics have announced the establishment of the Tony Markel Family Men’s Golf Head Coaching Endowment!

The family’s generous commitment of $3 million will allow UVA to endow the position of head men’s golf coach and provide ongoing support for the Virginia men’s golf program.
