🔼 Dipped In Gold. Ethan O’Donnell is one of the best defenders in all of college baseball!

The Virginia outfielder has been named one of nine 2023 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove recipients, just the second Hoo to ever earn the award.

O’Donnell started every game in center field this season and committed just one error while grabbing a team-best six outfield assists.

🔼 Best Athlete. The ACC has announced that Ethan Dabbs is the conference’s Men’s Field Athlete of the Year!

Dabbs made it a four-peat in the javelin at the ACC Championships this spring, and finished as the national runner-up in the event at the NCAA Championships.

His season-best throw of 80.82 meters set a facility record at Virginia.

🔼 Keep ‘Em Coming. Virginia’s Connor Shellenberger, along with Duke’s Brennan O’Neill, has been named the 2023 ACC Men’s Lacrosse Scholar Athlete of the Year!

Shellenberger, a media studies major, is the fourth Hoo to win the award.

Including Shellenberger, a program-record 25 Hoos garnered All-ACC Academic Team honors, an incredible number.

🔼 Top Of The Leaderboard. After one round at the Travelers Championship, Virginia alum Denny McCarthy finds himself with a two-shot lead over the rest of the field.

McCarthy, an All-American as a Hoo, shot a 10-under 60 on Thursday, two shots better than Adam Scott and Keegan Bradley, who are tied for second.

Current Hoo Ben James is also in the field at the Travelers, and shot an opening-round 71 to sit at 1-over.

🔼 First Since... Branden Albert broke a lot of barriers.

He was just the second Virginia freshman to start along the offensive line since 1972 when he did so in 2005, and after a first-team All-ACC season as a junior in 2007, was the highest-drafted guard in more than 10 years.

He made two Pro Bowls - one with Kansas City in 2013 and one with Miami in 2015.

⚔️ UVA Women’s Lacrosse Has 16 Named To All-ACC Academic Team. Membership to the All-ACC Academic Team requires a 3.0-grade point average and participation in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests.

⚔️ Mike Roberts Tabbed For USA Softball Coaching Staff. Roberts, UVA’s associate head coach and pitching coach, will join the USA Women’s National Team for the Japan All-Star Series this summer.
