📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Pumping Iron. Now in his third year overseeing strength and conditioning for head coach Tony Elliott, Adam Smotherman has a new home in the Molly and Robert Hardie Football Operations Center.

He joined the Wahoo Central Podcast to discuss the impact of the new facility!

🔼 Six-Hole Superstar. One day after claiming a Gold Glove award for his work in the six hole, Griff O’Ferrall has been named the Brooks Wallace Award winner as the nation’s top shortstop!

On top of having the best glove in the country, O’Ferrall hit .324 for the Hoos with 20 doubles, five home runs and 52 RBI.

After being named a finalist the past two seasons, he becomes the first Virginia shortstop to ever claim the Brooks Wallace Award.

🔼 Serving Olympians. Add two more to the UVA Olympic count — women’s tennis alums Emma Navarro and Danielle Collins have been selected to represent the United States in Paris!

🔼 Double The Douglass. Virginia fans will be seeing even more of Kate Douglass in Paris this summer!

Douglass won the 200 Breaststroke at the U.S. Olympic Team trials on Thursday, punching her ticket to a second event along with the 100 Free.

🔼 On Trial. Fifteen current and former Virginia track and field athletes are in Eugene, Oregon this weekend competing at the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials!

🔼 Great Job, Coach. After leading the Virginia men to their first ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championship title in program history this spring, head cross country and track and field coach Vin Lananna has been named the ACC Men’s Coach of the Year!

🔼 Captain Of The Ship. Virginia rowing has hired Wesley Ng as the second head coach in program history, Director of Athletics Carla Williams announced on Thursday.

Ng has served as the head coach at Penn for the last eight seasons, leading the Quakers to the NCAA Championships in the past three seasons. His teams finished 11th in 2022, sixth in 2023 and 10th in 2024.

Did you know 1 in 9 kids don’t have enough to eat? This summer, let’s come together and support our local food banks! From June 10-22, swing by any of the UVA Community Credit Union branches and drop off some non-perishable items. Everyone in the community is welcome to join in, not just our members! Let’s make a difference together!
