Hoos Brew 6/20: Not One, Not Two

Today gives us a good excuse to talk about a legendary Hoo.

What are we serving up in today's Brew?

⚾️ Heads held high
🏈 Three-sport star
⚔️ And much, much more!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Heads Held High. All-American Kyle Teel said it best after Virginia’s one-run loss to TCU on Sunday. Baseball’s a hard game.

For most of the year, though, Virginia made it look pretty easy. Here are a few of the things we’ll remember from this season:

⚾️ First 50-win season since 2014

⚾️ .335 team batting average, best in Division I

⚾️ Averaged 9.1 runs and 12 hits per game

⚾️ Sixth College World Series appearance in school history

🔼 Movin’ On Up. Virginia men’s tennis alum Alexander Ritschard finds himself climbing up the world rankings after a great weekend at the 100K Challenger in Lyon, France.

🔼 Multi-Sport Star. One sport wasn’t enough for Henry Jordan at Virginia. Two didn’t satisfy him, either. He settled on being a three-sport star for the Hoos back in the 1950s.

On the football team, Jordan wore No. 74 as a defensive tackle. He became an All-Pro talent with the Green Bay Packers, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1975.

74 more days until Virginia football!

🤔 HOOS TRIVIA

Setting A New Standard. Virginia catcher Kyle Teel was one of the hardest hitters in the country for pitchers to get out this season.
