🔼 It’s Game Day. You can stop sitting around and twiddling your thumbs waiting for Virginia baseball to start its road to Omaha - it’s finally game day in Charlottesville again!
The Hoos, the No. 1 seed in the Regional and No. 7 seed nationally, take on Army today at noon ET on ESPN+.
The Black Knights are 38-16, fresh off their fifth consecutive Patriot League championship. They hit .304 as a team on the season, and pitched to a 4.11 ERA.

🔼 Fabulous Frosh. Virginia freshman golfer Ben James had a fantastic first year as a Hoo.
James placed first in five tournaments this season, including wins in his first collegiate event back in September and the NCAA Regional in Las Vegas. On top of that, he placed top-four in 10 of 13 events, and was sixth at the NCAA Championships.
He’s a finalist for both the Haskins Award and Jack Nicklaus Award, on Wednesday was named a PING first-team All-American, and yesterday was named the NCAA Division I Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award winner!
Way to go, Ben 👏

🔼 Track Smarts. Ten members of the Virginia track and field program were honored this week with Academic All-District distinction.
Congrats to Hanne Borstlap, Keara Seasholtz, Esther Seeland, Alix Still and Anna Workman on the women’s side, and Derek Johnson, Nate Mountain, Owayne Owens, Alex Sherman and Justin Wachtel from the men’s!

⚔️ PHOTO ALBUM: Topping Out & Groundbreaking Ceremonies. The Virginia Athletics department had a special ceremony to celebrate the Topping Off of the new Football Operations Center and the Groundbreaking for the new Olympic Sports Complex.
⚔️ Brian Rasmussen Named Men’s Tennis Assistant Coach. Rasmussen has spent time as a volunteer assistant coach and mentor to the men’s tennis team since 2019.
⚔️ Natasha Subhash Repeats As Academic All-American. Subhash is the only Hoo in program history to earn the distinction, and has done so two years in a row.
