Good morning! Virginia track and field might have had to go luggage shopping down in Texas before it headed back to Charlottesville - the Hoos are bringing a lot of hardware back with them!

🔼 Omaha-Bound! In the deciding game three of the Charlottesville Super Regional, Virginia took down ACC foe Duke by a 12-2 final score to clinch a trip to Omaha for the College World Series. Relive the action from a day we won’t soon forget at the Dish:

🔼 Race To The Finish. The Virginia men’s track and field team rode impressive performances from each of its qualifiers at the NCAA Championships to an 11th place finish.
Nate Mountain and Derek Johnson: Finished fourth and eighth, respectively, in the 3,000m steeplechase in times of 8:35.99 and 8:37.29. Both earned All-American honors.
Owayne Owens: Finished sixth in the triple jump with a 16.36m leap. Owens is also an All-American.
Conor Murphy: Finished fifth in the 800m, smashing his old PR with a 1:46.43 time. This is Murphy’s second All-American honor following his indoor mile honor.
🔼 Top-20 Performance. The Virginia women’s track and field team received a pair of top-three performances on its way to a 17th place finish at the NCAA Championships.
Margot Appleton: Finished third in the 1,500m in a time of 4:09.30. Appleton is the first Hoo to earn All-American honors in the 1,500m since Morgane Gay in 2009.
Ashley Anumba: Finished second in the discus with a school-record throw of 61.13m. Anumba is the third Hoo in history to earn first-team All-American honors.
🔼 Team USA On Top. Virginia’s Ben James and Amanda Sambach helped Team USA to win the Arnold Palmer Cup over the weekend.
James topped Florida State’s Frederik Kjettrup 3&2 during singles play, while Sambach lost a close match to Florida State’s Charlotte Heath, 2&1.
Both James and Sambach helped Team USA earn additional points on Saturday during the two rounds of play in foursomes.
