🔼 Home is Where the Hoos Are. We live by the motto, “ Go big or go home!”

🔼 Scout’s Honor. The Virginia women’s soccer team will welcome 10 newcomers to Grounds as part of the 2025-26 class of newcomers, as announced by head coach Steve Swanson.
The group of newcomers includes some of the most highly touted players in the nation and one international signee. The group is rated the No. 4 recruiting class in the nation by Top Drawer Soccer, with eight players ranked in the top 200 players, two among the top five rated players and five of the top 50 players nationally.
🔼 The Call is Coming From Inside the House. Former Virginia baseball player Kyle Teel (2021-23) made his Major League debut on Friday (June 6) for the Chicago White Sox. The catcher went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks and scored once in the 7-2 White Sox victory.
Teel is the No. 26 overall prospect in all of Major League Baseball, according to MLB.com. He has spent the entire 2025 season with the Charlotte Knights, the White Sox’s Triple-A affiliate. In 50 games with them, Teel is hitting .295 (54-for-183) with 10 doubles, eight home runs and 30 RBIs.

🔼 Squad Goals. Virginia women’s lacrosse head coach Sonia LaMonica announced the signing of goalkeeper Elyse Finnelle (Deale, Md.), who will join the Cavaliers for the 2025-26 season.
Finnelle comes to Virginia after graduating from Florida in May, having helped lead the Gators to back-to-back NCAA Semifinal appearances. The 2025 Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Year recorded 109 saves on a .462 save percentage with a 14-1 record across 22 appearances and 16 starts last season for the Gators, earning All-Big 12 Team honors.

🔼 Together Again. Since graduating from Ohio State in 2011, assistant coach Bryce Crawford has worked with Ryan Odom at Charlotte, Lenoir-Rhyne, UMBC, Utah State, VCU and, now, Virginia.
Crawford is among the seven staffers who followed Odom from VCU to UVA this spring.
“This place is special,” Crawford said. “We want to protect and add to this legacy that has been established for a very, very long time. We are the stewards of this place. We have to honor that.”
