🔼 Best Finish Ever. Virginia men’s golf’s fantastic run at the NCAA Championships came to an end on Tuesday, falling in match play to No. 2 seed Florida, 3-2.
The Hoos got wins from Deven Patel and Bryan Lee against the Gators, but couldn’t put together a third match-play win to claim a victory.
The top-eight finish at this season’s NCAA Championships is the best ever for Virginia, and provides plenty of momentum for next season with a young group coming back!
🔼 Long Homestand. The Virginia baseball team was announced as a NCAA Regional host on Sunday evening.
On Monday, it was announced that the Hoos are the No. 7 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, meaning if they make it past East Carolina, Oklahoma and Army in the Regional, they will host a best-of-three Super Regional at the Dish.
“It’s a reward for our players,” head coach Brian O’Connor said, “but it’s just as much a reward for our fans that have come out and supported this team, and I’m excited to see the Dish packed this weekend for postseason baseball.”
🔼 Draft Dreams. ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel released his first MLB Mock Draft of the year on Tuesday over at ESPN+ ($), and has a Hoo prominently featured in the first round.
