📈 STOCK UP

The Hoos’ Varsity Four boat raced to a fifth-place finish in the grand final, the Second Varsity Eight placed fourth in the petite final, and the Varsity Eight boat placed fifth in the petite final.

🔼 Movin’ On. Virginia men’s golf has put together three good days at Grayhawk Golf Club, shooting a combined 14-over 854 to move onto the final round of stroke play today.

Ben James is the leading Hoo through three rounds, currently sitting at 2-under 208 and is in a tie for eighth place. Bryan Lee is at 3-over 213 and sits in a tie for 28th.

The Hoos will need to jump into the top-eight today to move into the team match play portion of the tournament. They currently sit one shot behind top-ranked Vanderbilt and No. 8 Florida State for that spot.

The Regional is a four-team, double-elimination tournament, with the winner moving onto the Super Regional round. Games in the Regional round will begin Friday.

🔼 Heartbreak In The Semis. Three-seed Notre Dame men’s lacrosse scored the final three goals against two-seed Virginia in the semifinals of the NCAA Championships, the last one coming in overtime in a 13-12 Irish win.

It was an uncharacteristic loss for the Hoos, who were outplayed on the ground 42-30 and also lost 16-of-28 faceoffs. Despite all of that, Virginia still held a 12-11 lead with just under a minute to play in regulation.

Connor Shellenberger led the charge for the Hoos with six points, while Thomas McConvey and Patrick McIntosh both contributed three points. Matthew Nunes registered 17 saves.

🔼 Austin Calling. Virginia will be well-represented at the NCAA Track and Field Championships in Austin, Texas, as nine Hoos qualified for the meet this past weekend at the NCAA East Preliminary.

After Ethan Dabbs got the qualifying started last Thursday, four more Virginia men joined him in punching their ticket to the NCAA Championships over the weekend. Nate Mountain and Derek Johnson both qualified in the 3,000m steeplechase, Conor Murphy in the 800m, and Owayne Owens in the triple jump.

The Virginia women had four athletes qualify for the NCAA Championships, including Margot Appleton (1,500m) and Ashley Anumba (discus) over the weekend. That duo joins Alix Still (heptathlon) and Sophie Atkinson (10,000m).
