🔼 Onto NCAAs. Virginia baseball’s stay at the ACC Tournament is over earlier than it hoped after a 10-2 loss to 7-seed North Carolina on Thursday afternoon.
The Hoos and Tar Heels both finished Pool B play at 1-1, but the head-to-head win for the Heels has them moving on to the semifinals and the Hoos gearing up for an NCAA Regional.
Ethan Anderson provided the offense for Virginia against North Carolina, going 2-for-4 with a home run.

🔼 This One Means More. For the third time this season, Virginia and Notre Dame men’s lacrosse face off this weekend at the NCAA Lacrosse Championships Final Four in Philadelphia.
The Hoos have gotten the best of the Irish so far this year, winning the first matchup against then-No. 1 Notre Dame 15-10 in South Bend. The second meeting, with Notre Dame again ranked No. 1, was a 12-8 Virginia win.
Xander Dickson has scored 10 goals in the two games against Notre Dame this year, while Connor Shellenberger has grabbed 11 points. Goalkeeper Matthew Nunes was a big reason for UVA’s latest win over the Irish, registering a career-high 19 saves on April 30.
The two teams will face off for a spot in the championship game at 2:30pm ET on Saturday on ESPN2.

🔼 Desert Championship. Virginia men’s golf tees off at the NCAA Championships today for the first time since 2017, playing at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The NCAA Championships will consist of three days of stroke play, at which time the 30-team field will be reduced to 15 and the top nine individuals not on one of those teams for the fourth round.
The No. 16 Hoos are paired with Alabama and Texas A&M for rounds one and two, and will be repaired for round three.

🔼 Distance Shines. Several Hoos moved onto the quarterfinals and beyond at the NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary meet on Thursday.
Anna Workman, Esther Seeland and Margot Appleton all moved on in the women’s 1500m run, with Workman running the fifth-fastest qualifying time at 4:18.82.
The highlight of the day was sophomore Sophie Atkinson, who ran well and moved on to the NCAA Championships in the 10,000m with a personal-best time of 33:53.56. Atkinson was seeded 39th heading into the East Prelims and finished eighth.

🔼 Time To Row. No. 8 Virginia rowing concludes its season this weekend at the NCAA Championships at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, N.J.
Virginia has boats ranked sixth (Varsity Four), eighth (Varsity Eight) and 11th (Second Varsity Eight) at the NCAA Championships.
