📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Postseason Push. Virginia baseball gets a fourth consecutive matchup against Georgia Tech to open up the ACC Championships today.

Fresh off a sweep of the Yellow Jackets last weekend that secured the ACC Coastal and the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament, the Hoos are looking to make it six straight wins over Georgia Tech dating back to last season.

The winner of Pool B, which includes Virginia, Georgia Tech and North Carolina, will advance to the semifinals of the ACC Championships on Saturday.

🔼 Transfer Train. Virginia football has rounded out its 2023 signing class with a quartet of transfers with big-time college football under their belt.

The group includes a pair of offensive linemen in Jimmy Christ (Penn State) and Brian Stevens (Dayton), as well as defensive backs Malcolm Greene (Clemson) and Sam Westfall (SMU).

🔼 Qualifying Hopes. Thirty track and field Hoos are in Jacksonville, Fla., this week at the NCAA East Prelims with hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas.

The Virginia men have 13 athletes set to compete, with several athletes in a good spot to qualify for the NCAA Championships - Ethan Dabbs, Nate Mountain, Derek Johnson, Owayne Owens and Conor Murphy are all seeded 10th or better in their events.

The women have 17 athletes entered in 18 events, as well as the 4×100 and 4×400 relays. Margot Appleton, Ashley Anumba, Jordan Hardy, Sam Romano and Esther Seeland earned top-10 seeds in their respective events.

🔼 Academic Accolades. Nine Virginia student-athletes have been named Academic All-District Team at-large honorees by the College Sports Communicators.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a minimum of a 3.5 GPA, be in their second year at their current institution and must be a starter or important contributor to their team.

Congratulations to Justin McCoy (wrestling), Cole Kastner (men’s lacrosse), Grayson Sallade (men’s lacrosse), Connor Shellenberger (men’s lacrosse), Jennifer Cleary (women’s golf), Adele Iacobucci (field hockey), Annie McDonough (field hockey), Maggie Bostain (women’s lacrosse) and Mackenzie Hoeg (women’s lacrosse)!

⚔️ Jans Croon Named To USWMT PAHF Hockey5s Pan American Cup Roster. Croon will play in the inaugural 2023 Hockey5s Pan American Cup in Kingston, Jamaica. The athletes chosen to participate in the event were selected after a training camp at Duke University.

⚔️ NCAA Women’s Individual Championships - Day 2. Natasha Subhash fell in the Round of 16, while Mélodie Collard and Julia Adams competed in doubles action.

⚔️ NCAA Men’s Individual Championships - Day 2. On a day marred by rain, Jeffrey von der Schulenburg and Chris Rodesch competed in singles play.
