Today, we're harvesting a win.
Good morning! Need a big hit?
What else are we serving up in today's Brew?
⚾️ Defending home
🎾 Making her mark
⚔️ And much, much more!
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Defending Home Turf. The No. 21 Virginia baseball team hosts VCU tonight in another Commonwealth battle.
The last time the two teams got together in Richmond, the Hoos got the best of the Rams in a 19-6 slugfest. As a reminder, Ethan Anderson had five hits in that game - two home runs and three doubles.
VCU is 3-4 since that last matchup, including a series win this past weekend against Saint Louis.
🔼 Making Her Mark. Natasha Subhash is a fantastic tennis player, a three-time ITA All-American and 2020 ITA National Rookie of the Year.
She’s also a fantastic student, as the two-time recipient of UVA’s Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year for her studies in the prestigious McIntire School of Commerce.
She’s been the full package as a Hoo.
🔼 Tilling The Field. Virginia softball gets to enjoy Farmville this evening, but no, they won’t be on Facebook. The Hoos are in Farmville, Va., to take on Longwood for a midweek road contest.
Virginia is looking for its 30th win of the season against a Longwood group that sits at 27-17 overall, with top-10 wins over Duke and Florida State, and a loss to the Hoos back in late February.
🔼 Korn On The Cob. Former UVA men’s golfer Ben Kohles waited 11 years between his second and third win on the Korn Ferry Tour. His third and fourth wins came 28 days apart, the latest coming over the weekend at the Lenders Championship.
Kohles defeated Ben Silverman on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff to become the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour Points leader and first multi-time winner on tour this season.
🔼 Boared On The Court. Emma Navarro, an alumna of the UVA women’s tennis program, made quick work of the field at the Boar’s Head Resort Women’s Open over the weekend.
Her semifinal match was a 6-0, 6-1 win in 45 minutes. She took her time in the championship match - a 6-1, 6-1 win in 57 minutes.
🤔 HOOS TRIVIA
Joining The Club. Jack Eliason ran sub-four minutes in the mile over the weekend at the Virginia High Performance meet, a major accomplishment for every miler.
