Xander Dickson scored two goals against the Spiders, and in the process broke the UVA single-season goals record, surpassing Doug Knight’s 1996 record of 56 goals with his 57th of the year.

The Hoos are set to play Georgetown on Saturday in Albany, N.Y., in the NCAA Quarterfinals.

🔼 Easy Does It. Virginia men’s tennis was in complete control against Duke on Saturday, winning its NCAA Round of 16 match 4-0 against the Blue Devils to advance to the quarterfinals.

After a quick doubles point victory (besides a lightning delay and rainstorm that moved things indoors), the Hoos got singles wins from Chris Rodesch, Jeffrey von der Schulenburg and Mans Dahlberg to finish off the Blue Devils.

Five-seed Virginia next faces four-seed Kentucky on Thursday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

🔼 Poised For The Podium. After Ethan Dabbs set the standard on Thursday in the men’s javelin, Virginia won four additional titles at the ACC Track & Field Outdoor Championships over the weekend.

Nate Mountain and Owayne Owens claimed gold on Friday. Mountain won the men’s 3,000m steeplechase in 8:32.05, while Owens’ 16.61m mark in the triple jump earned him the top spot on the podium.

Saturday saw Margot Appleton and the women’s 4×100 squad win top honors. Appleton won her first ACC title in the 1,500m, running the race in 4:14.58. The team of Kayla Bonnick, Jada Seaman, Jada Pierre and Sarah Akpan won the 4×100 in a blistering 43.71 seconds.

The Hoos earned wins from the third varsity eight, second varsity four, varsity four and second varsity eight, and placed second in the varsity eight.

Virginia’s 95 team points were enough to best Syracuse, which finished second with 86.

🔼 Make It Six. Virginia baseball made it a clean sweep of Louisville over the weekend, pushing its win streak to six games as it nears postseason play.

While the bats were scoring the first 13 runs of the game, Nick Parker was busy keeping the Louisville lineup quiet, tossing 6.1 innings and allowing just two earned runs. Ethan Anderson hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning, and the Hoos were off and running.

The Hoos became the second team in the country to reach 40 wins behind Connelly Early’s magnificent six-inning, one-run start, winning his 10th game of the year. Colin Tuft provided the offensive spark, going 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBI.

Brian Edgington was awesome for the Hoos, tossing six scoreless innings to set the tone, while Ethan Anderson, Casey Saucke and Kyle Teel all drove in a pair of runs. The win moved Virginia to 32-4 at home on the year, tied for the most regular season home wins in school history.

🔼 Viva Las Vegas. UVA men’s golf is in the desert today, beginning play at its NCAA Regional at Bear’s Best Las Vegas.

The Hoos enter the week as the Regional’s No. 3 seed, with the top five teams at the end of three rounds moving on to the NCAA Championships in Scottsdale, Arizona.
