🔼 Got The Job Done. Virginia women’s golf was the best team on the course Wednesday, shooting 10-under to clinch a spot in the NCAA Championships later this month in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Amanda Sambach put another feather in her cap as co-champion of the event at 13-under, shooting 4-under in her final round. Celeste Valinho joined her at 4-under on the day, and finished the event right there at 4-under for a 12th-place finish.

🔼 Squeezed. Early momentum didn’t last forever for Virginia softball, falling to Syracuse in the first round of the ACC Tournament, 8-2.

The Hoos jumped out to a 2-0 lead through three innings thanks to RBI from Katie Goldberg and Tori Gilbert.

🔼 Perfecto. Virginia baseball is perfect! In the non-conference, that is, after beating Radford 8-0 on Wednesday to finish 25-0 against non-ACC opponents this season. The Hoos are the first team since Texas A&M in 2015 to accomplish the feat.

Jake Gelof was 3-for-3 with three RBI, and hit his 19th home run of the year. Seven Virginia pitchers combined for the shutout, with Jack O’Connor providing three scoreless innings of relief to earn the win.

🔼 Playing Both Ends. In a time when more and more players are becoming specialized, Virginia’s Jeff Conner is old school.

“He’s doing something that is really, really difficult: to understand a sophisticated offense and defense at the same time, and then execute with a high level of comprehension,” Virginia head coach Lars Tiffany said about his two-way midfielder.

⚔️ Chico Bennett Jr., Named To Lott IMPACT Trophy Candidates List. Bennett Jr., a Virginia defensive end, was named one of 42 candidates for the Lott IMPACT Trophy, which goes to the Defensive IMPACT Player of the Year.

⚔️ Virginia Travels For ACC Outdoor Championships. The Hoos are in Raleigh, N.C., to compete at the ACC Outdoor Championships, with events starting Thursday and running through Saturday.
