🔼 Calling It A Career. Virginia rowing head coach Kevin Sauer has announced he will retire at the conclusion of the Hoos’ season, ending a 29-year run as the leader of the program.

Sauer guided Virginia to a pair of national championships, 22 ACC championships and nine NCAA boat titles during his time in Charlottesville.

🔼 Carolina On Our Mind. No. 3 seed Virginia men’s tennis continues its run toward its third straight NCAA title this weekend, hosting unseeded South Carolina today at 4 p.m. in a Round of 16 matchup.

The Gamecocks upset No. 14 seed NC State in Raleigh last weekend to advance to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament.

🔼 Shut The ‘Dore. No. 5 seed Virginia women’s tennis is back at home this weekend, hosting unseeded Vanderbilt in an NCAA Tournament Round of 16 matchup on Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Commodores are in the Round of 16 by way of a 4-3 upset over No. 12 seed Ohio State last weekend.

🔼 Tourney Run. The No. 5 seed Virginia men’s lacrosse team hosts a NCAA First Round matchup this weekend, taking on No. 13 seed Saint Joseph’s tomorrow at noon at Klöckner Stadium.

The Hawks start NCAA Tournament play as one of the hottest teams in the country as winners of 12 straight games, including an Atlantic 10 Championship win over No. 17 Richmond last weekend.

🔼 Home Sweet Home. No. 5 seed Virginia women’s lacrosse is also joining the NCAA Tournament hosting party this weekend, welcoming Long Island to Klöckner Stadium today at 3 p.m. for a first round matchup.

A win today would set up a game against the winner of Florida and North Carolina on Sunday at Klöckner Stadium.

🔼 Tiger Clawed. Virginia softball couldn’t find enough offense on Thursday against Clemson in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament, falling 8-1 to the Tigers in Durham, N.C.

The Hoos will now await the announcement of the NCAA Tournament field on Sunday night, with the selection show airing on ESPN2 at 7 p.m.

🔼 Getting Hot. With six home runs on Wednesday against George Washington, it appears No. 10 Virginia baseball is heating up at the perfect time — the Hoos have six regular season games remaining, all at home against ACC opponents, starting this weekend against No. 23 NC State.

🔼 Top Of The Leaderboard. A pair of Virginia men’s golf standouts are now officially ACC standouts — Ben James and Bryan Lee have both been named to the 2024 All-ACC Team!
