🔼 Commonwealth Win. No. 11 Virginia baseball took care of VCU, 8-4, on Tuesday to complete the season sweep of the Rams.
Jacob Ference, Harrison Didawick, Henry Godbout and Luke Hanson all went deep for the Hoos in the win. Didawick’s home run was his 17th of the season, the fifth-most in a single season in Virginia history.
The Hoos are back in action today at 6 p.m. at home against Navy.
🔼 Development Is Key. Virginia women’s soccer head coach Steve Swanson is very specific when talking with recruits — he wants to graduate players, win ACC and NCAA championships, and develop his players for the next level.
Those standards are a big reason why UVA has 18 alumnae on NWSL rosters this spring, and has had 22 players drafted in the 11-year history of the NWSL draft.

🔼 Tip Top. Three home runs. Four runs scored. Eight driven in — Virginia infielder Shelby Barbee went to work against Georgia Tech last weekend.
She is the ACC Co-Player of the Week for that work!

🔼 Keep Driving. “The road to success is littered with people that could have drove another 10 minutes.”
2024 Virginia Sports Hall of Fame inductee Chris Long with some words of wisdom during his induction speech!
🔼 Four Score. A quartet of Hoos have been invited to compete in the NCAA Individuals Championships at Oklahoma State University — Chris Rodesch will be the No. 4 seed in the singles championships, with Iñaki Montes and Dylan Dietrich earning at-large bids.
Montes and James Hopper earned an invite to the doubles championship, and Jeffrey von der Schulenburg is the second alternate for singles.
🔼 You’re Invited. The Virginia women earned three invites to the NCAA Individuals Championships — Hibah Shaikh was invited to the singles championships, while Elaine Chervinsky and Mélodie Collard will play in the doubles draw.
🔼 Hoos Honored. The ACC announced its 2024 All-ACC Men’s Lacrosse Teams on Tuesday and Payton Cormier, Cole Kastner, Griffin Schutz and Connor Shellenberger all made teams!
