Virginia softball kicks off ACC Championship play today against Louisville!

Good Morning, Hoos! Virginia Head Football Strength and Conditioning Coach, Adam Smotherman, was presented with the title of Master Strength and Conditioning Coach (MSCC) by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa) at its annual convention in Indianapolis on Tuesday — read more about Smotherman’s honor here!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 In Position. Virginia women’s golf finished the second round of play at the NCAA Charlottesville Regional on Tuesday, sitting in fifth place as a team.

South Carolina maintained its position atop the leaderboard at 5-under 563. UCLA (1-over 569), Florida (3-over 571), and Ole Miss (4-over, 572) sit ahead of Virginia in fifth place at 6-over 574. The Cavaliers hold a five-stroke lead over NC State (11-over 579) to land above the projected cut line going into the final round.

🔼 Tournament Talk. No. 7 seed Virginia softball is in Brighton, Mass., today for a matchup with No. 10 seed Louisville in the first round of the ACC Championship at 5 p.m.

The Hoos took two-of-three games against Louisville in Charlottesville from April 17-19, outscoring the Cardinals 19-8. The winner of today’s game will advance to play No. 3 seed Clemson tomorrow at 5 p.m.

🔼 Tigers In Town. Virginia baseball is back at the Dish today, hosting Towson at 6 p.m.

The Hoos have won four straight midweek home games, with wins over Georgetown, James Madison, VCU and Navy in that time.

🔼 Postseason Next. Virginia track and field closed out the regular season on Tuesday at the Liberty Twilight Qualifier, with four Hoos recording event wins in Lynchburg.

🔼 Pro Players. A pair of Virginia men’s lacrosse standouts were selected in the 2025 Premier Lacrosse League draft on Tuesday — Ben Wayer in the third round by the Philadelphia Waterdogs and Griffin Schutz in the fourth round by the California Redwoods!

Gretchen Walsh Breaks World Record Twice On Final Day Of TYR Pro Series. Walsh posted a 55.09 in her morning prelim swim to set a world record in the 100m Butterfly, breaking her own previous world record of 55.18 set at the US Olympic Team Trials last year. In the final, Walsh became the first woman ever to swim the event in under 55 seconds, setting the record at 54.60.
