šŸ”¼  Got The Call! Virginia Director of Athletics Carla Williams has announced the elevation of Kevin Cassese as the Hoos’ head men’s lacrosse coach!

Cassese has spent the last three seasons (2024-26) as UVA’s associate head coach and offensive coordinator. He helped guide the Cavaliers to Championship Weekend in 2024 and most recently capture the program’s 20th ACC championship in 2026. This past season, Cassese’s offense led the nation in assists per game (9.59) and finished fourth and led the ACC in points per game (23.65).

šŸ”¼  Give It A Theme! Virginia athletics announced its theme dates for the 2026 football season on Tuesday!

The Cavaliers will host six games at Scott Stadium this fall beginning with the home opener against Norfolk State on Friday, Sept. 11.

šŸ”¼  All The All-Americans! The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its All-Americans on Tuesday, and Virginia men’s and women’s tennis were well-represented!

Dylan Dietrich, Keegan Rice and Mans Dahlberg were honored on the men’s side, with Melodie Collard, Annabelle Xu, Vivian Yang and Martina Genis Salas earning recognition on the women’s side.

šŸ”¼  Running Toward The Finish Line! Virginia track and field begins competition at the NCAA East First Round in Lexington, Ky., today, with 34 Hoos in attendance with the goal of qualifying for the NCAA Championships in June!

šŸ”¼  Joining The Champs! Virginia men’s tennis has added to its top-ranked recruiting class, with head coach Andres Pedroso announcing the signing of Luca Preda as a freshman in the fall of 2026!

šŸ”¼  Brazil’s Best! Virginia women’s soccer forward Gio Canali has been named to the roster for the Brazilian U-20 Women’s National Team!

For the first time ever: Virginia Cavaliers football heads to Rio de Janeiro. And so can you! On August 29, 2026, Virginia takes on NC State Wolfpack football at Nilton Santos Stadium in the FIRST-EVER FBS college football game played in South America.
