🔼 Hoos Are Hot. When he met with his team last month after its return from Tallahassee, Fla., University of Virginia head baseball coach Brian O’Connor did not sugarcoat the situation. With the regular season winding down, time was running out for a team with NCAA tournament aspirations.
Since then, the Hoos (26-16 overall) have gone 6-1, taking two of three games from ACC foe Georgia Tech in Atlanta and defeating Georgetown, JMU, VCU and Navy at Disharoon Park.

🔼 Tournament Time. No. 1 seed Virginia women’s tennis begins play in the NCAA Tournament today in Charlottesville, taking on No. 4 seed Fairleigh Dickinson at 1 p.m.
The Knights earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament with a Northeast Conference Championship victory over Saint Francis. The winner of today’s match will advance to take on the winner of Illinois and Arizona on Saturday.

🔼 Win Or Go Home. No. 1 seed Virginia men’s tennis starts its NCAA Tournament run tomorrow, playing Bucknell at 1 p.m. in Charlottesville.
The Bison won the Patriot League Tournament championship to qualify for the NCAA Tournament, and enter this weekend on a six-match win streak. The winner of tomorrow’s match will play the winner of St. John’s and Princeton on Sunday.

🔼 Tune In. A rising senior from Chattanooga, Tenn., linebacker Trey McDonald recently was awarded the prestigious T. Rodney Crowley Jr. Memorial Scholarship. McDonald is a student in UVA's McIntire School of Commerce.

🔼 Two-For-One. Virginia track and field will compete at a pair of events this weekend, first traveling to Lynchburg today for the Hill City Twilight before heading to Durham, N.C., on Sunday for the Duke Twilight.

🔼 Welcome Back. On April 26, 2025, Virginia held its annual Alumni Welcome Back game against No. 9 Duke at Klöckner Stadium. During halftime, UVA honored its 1970 national championship team, members from the 1990s, and former longtime assistant coach Marc Van Arsdale – an initiative spearheaded by alumni Drew Fox ’94 and Doug Tarring ’72.
