Virginia earned its seventh NCAA title in program history Sunday!

🔼 NCAA Champs! Virginia men’s tennis has claimed the seventh NCAA title in program history, taking down No. 2 seed Texas by a 4-3 final score on Sunday at the Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.!
After advancing to the finals for the ninth time in the last 15 championships, Virginia now holds the fourth-most team titles in the NCAA. The title was the first for the Cavaliers since 2023, when they repeated as NCAA champions.

🔼 Champions of the ACC! Virginia men’s track and field claimed its second ACC Outdoor title in three seasons over the weekend, totaling 110 points to edge out Florida State (96 points) and Virginia Tech (88 points)!
Will Anthony (10,000m), Tatum David (1500m), Christiana Ellina (Javelin), Brett Gardner (3000mSC), Gary Martin (1500m), Nate Mountain (3000mSC), Jeremiah Nubbe (Hammer), Charlotta Sandkulla (Hammer), Elsa Spoor (Heptathlon), Maya Rollins (100m Hurdles), Nikolaos Polychroniou (Hammer), Janae Profit (Discus), and Justin Wachtel (10,000m) all earned First-Team All-ACC for their performances.

🔼 Regional Round Up. Virginia softball’s season came to an end over the weekend in the NCAA Knoxville Regional, dropping a pair of games to No. 7 overall seed Tennessee.
The Hoos made a push to the Regional championship game after earning a pair of wins over Indiana, including an 8-7 walk-off win on Friday.

🔼 Friday Night Lights! The ACC has announced that Virginia football’s game this fall against Duke will kick off on Friday, Oct. 23 at Scott Stadium!

🔼 Teeing It Up! Virginia men’s golf begins play at the NCAA Winston-Salem Regional today at Bermuda Run Country Club!
The top-seeded Hoos will play 54 holes over the course of the next three days, with the top five teams among the 14-team field advancing to the NCAA Championships.

🔼 New To Town! Virginia women’s basketball head coach Aaron Roussell has announced the signing of Alabama transfer Eris Lester!
Lester, a 5-11 guard, joins the Cavalier program after spending a pair of seasons at Alabama. As a freshman in 2024-25, Lester appeared in 30 games while averaging 9.9 minutes per game to lead Alabama’s freshman class. She scored in double figures on four occasions including a career-high 16 points in her collegiate debut. Lester’s 2025-26 season was cut short due to injury.

🔼 Postseason Up Next. Virginia baseball dropped the final two games of its series at Louisville over the weekend, wrapping up its regular season at 35-20 overall and 14-16 in ACC play.
The ACC Championships are up next for Virginia, with the Hoos earning the No. 8 seed in the tournament. Virginia will play the winner of No. 16 seed Duke vs. No. 9 seed NC State on Wednesday morning.

🔼 Rowing Up Front! No. 8 Virginia rowing used three second-place finishes to place second overall at the 2026 ACC Championship on Saturday on Lake Wheeler in Raleigh, N.C.!

Kick Time Announced For College Football Brasil. The Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Tuesday (May 12) that Virginia football’s season opener against NC State on Aug. 29 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil will kick at 3:30 p.m. ET. The contest will air live on ESPN and can be heard on the Virginia Sports Radio Network.
