š¼ Letās Chat. Virginia menās lacrosse attackman Xander Dickson joined the most recent episode of the Wahoo Central Podcast to talk about the Hoosā season so far.
Then, head rowing coach Kevin Sauer joins to talk about his program and its matchup against top-ranked Texas coming up.
š¼ A Legend Lost. The Virginia baseball family lost a legendary advocate this week, with Leslie B. Disharoon passing away at the age of 90.
Disharoon Park, where the Hoos play their home games, is named in honor of Leslie and his late wife, Ann Merriweather Disharoon.
Disharoonās support for UVA was unwavering, and you could find him in his suite for nearly every home Cavalier baseball game.
š¼ Commonwealth Challenge. The Commonwealth is up for grabs tonight in Charlottesville, as Virginia Tech womenās lacrosse comes to town to take on the Hoos.
The Hokies (9-7) have been good away from home this season, holding a 6-2 record on the road. They also donāt allow many goals - less than 10 per game. Conversely, The Hoos havenāt lost at home this year, and are scoring 15 goals per game. Somethingās gotta give!
As far as the Clash goes, the Hoos have a slight historical edge at 9-8 against the Hokies.
š¼ Coming Back Stronger. A clogged artery while he was at UVA nearly ended Alexander Ritschardās pro tennis career before it started.
After enduring three operations to open it up and a lengthy recovery process, the 29-year-old Ritschard is now thriving on the ATP Challenger Tour and is just outside of the top-200 in the ATP world rankings.
