🔼 Two ‘Til Kickoff. We’re finding it harder to focus on anything other than the fact that Virginia football will be back on the field in just two days.

Need a peek into what we’ll see on Saturday? UVA coordinators recently spoke on the progress the team has made this spring.

🔼 Another Outburst. Nine first inning runs left little doubt for Virginia baseball against Mount St. Mary’s, and the Hoos took the midweek contest 16-4.

Stop us if you’ve heard this before - Jake Gelof homered again for the Hoos. Gelof, Griff O’Ferrall, Casey Saucke, and Henry Godbout all had two RBI.

🔼 In Good Company. There was Mike Lindner. There was E.J. Anderson. At one time, both those men held the title of most prolific home run hitter in Virginia baseball history.

Not anymore, though. That title now belongs to Jake Gelof, as Jeff White writes.

🔼 Golf In Greensboro. UVA women’s golf is in Greensboro, N.C., this week to compete in the ACC Championships at Sedgefield Country Club.

The ACC Championships were last held at Sedgefield Country Club in 2021, when the Hoos finished fourth.

The format will consist of three rounds of stroke play to determine the four semifinalists, who then will compete in match play to determine a champion.

🔼 Honored Hoos. Eleven Virginia football players have earned NFF Hampshire Honor Society membership, as announced by the National Football Foundation & College Football Hall of Fame.

To earn membership a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout his college career. The 11 members from Virginia are the most of any school in the ACC.

Touch ‘Em All. Virginia softball’s Tori Gilbert hit her 32nd career home run on Tuesday against Liberty.

⚔️ Virginia Sweeps ACC Weekly Men’s Tennis Awards. Chris Rodesch was named ACC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while William Woodall and Iñaki Montes were named ACC Men’s Doubles Team of the Week.

⚔️ Owayne Owens Named Scholar Athlete of the Year. Owens is the first Cavalier to win ACC Men’s Scholar Athlete of the Year for Indoor Track & Field, and leads a Virginia program that landed 45 All-ACC Academic honors, most in the ACC.
