Today, we're happy to say it's game week.
Good morning! It’s game week! Sure, maybe this one doesn’t count toward bowl eligibility. But there’s going to be a Wahoo Walk, touchdowns, and…linemen returning punts? Who knows!

📈 STOCK UP
🔼 How Sweep It Is. No. 7 Virginia baseball ran its home win streak to a school-record 21 games this weekend in a three-game sweep of No. 20 Miami.
UVA came roaring out of the gates in game one with a 14-2 victory. Casey Saucke was 2-for-4 with four RBI in the game. Game two was closer but yielded the same result, a 6-5 win. Jake Gelof was 3-for-5 with three RBI. Game three Sunday clinched the sweep, a 6-3 win for the Hoos. Gelof was again the star, going 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI.
Gelof now has 37 career home runs at Virginia, tying him with E.J. Anderson for most all-time.
🔼 GAME WEEK. That’s right, we’re less than a week away from the pads popping again!
Get loose for Saturday by checking in with quarterbacks coach Taylor Lamb, who recently spoke on his signal callers.
🔼 Super Seniors. A pair of 4-0 runs in the second half were the difference in No. 12 Virginia women’s lacrosse’s 16-12 win over No. 24 Duke on Senior Day.
Morgan Schwab scored a career-high five goals to lead the Hoos, adding an assist, while Rachel Clark scored four goals of her own in the win. Ashlyn McGovern also added three goals and two assists.
🔼 Top-10 Trounce. No. 3 Virginia took care of business on the road at North Carolina, jumping out to a 6-1 lead after the first quarter and cruising to a 19-12 win.
Payton Cormier scored a game-high five goals on eight shots, adding two assists. Xander Dickson, Thomas McConvey, Peter Garno, and Petey LaSalla all scored multiple goals.
🔼 Close Commonwealth. Virginia softball dropped the rubber match of the Smithfield Commonwealth Clash on Saturday by a score of 7-0.
The Hoos walked it off in game two of the series for a 6-5 win over the No. 13 Hokies, as Leah Boggs scored on an error to send Virginia home happy.
Jade Hylton led the Hoos with five hits and two runs out of the leadoff spot over the three-game series, and Katie Goldberg added four hits out of the two-hole.
🔼 James Sees Green Future. UVA men’s golfer Ben James envisions himself competing for a green jacket at The Masters someday, and he has every reason to believe that’s a realistic goal.

Movin’ On Up. With three goals over the weekend, Ashlyn McGovern moved into a tie for third on UVA’s all-time career goals list with 195.

⚔️ No. 8 Virginia men’s tennis blanked No. 19 Wake Forest, 4-0. Chris Rodesch (6-2, 6-3), Jeffrey Von Der Schulenburg (6-4, 6-4) and Ryan Goetz (6-1, 6-3) all collected singles wins.
⚔️ Virginia women’s basketball has added Paris Clark, a transfer from Arizona, to the 2023-24 roster. Clark was a 2022 McDonald’s High School All-American and New York State Gatorade Player of the Year out of Long Island Lutheran High School.
